The Hotel Abbaye de Maizieres is ideally situated in the historical center of Beaune, a picturesque town, on a cobbled street. The entrance of the hotel is in the cellar through a medieval door next to a beautiful, vaulted window with Cistercian glasses.
This residence is known as Maizieres Abbey because it was owned by the monks of Maizieres Abbey from 1301 until the French Revolution, when the church`s properties were confiscated. Broken up in 1789, Petit Maizieres Abbey has, for some years, been largely reassembled by Bruno Epailly and his wife Emmanuelle, and now accommodates a beautiful boutique hotel.
The hotel is in the older part of Beaune, all within walking distance to the famous Hospices de Beaune, the Notre-Dame Basilica, the Hotel of the Duke of Burgundy (Wine Museum), shopping streets, restaurants, and wine bars.
